WILSON McMULLEN ARCHITECTS are an RIBA chartered architects practice located on the North coast of Northern Ireland in Portrush. It was formed in 2007 by Ben Wilson & Michelle McMullen and has grown a strong reputation for producing thoughtful, well crafted architecture that is of its time and its place.
The studio has now developed a wide range of work ranging from contemporary new homes to commercial development, master planning and significant projects in the tourism and hospitability sector, including 4 star Hotel design.
We have also developed an extensive portfolio of small projects ranging from single storey bespoke house extensions to more significant renovations and extensions to both modern and traditional homes.
We pride ourselves on a client focused service and offer an enthusiastic and interactive approach to architecture that engages our client’s throughout the design process. We approach every project as a unique opportunity to develop our client’s brief into an inspiring, practical and beautiful piece of architecture.

Ben Wilson

Previously to setting up Wilson McMullen Architects in 2007 he worked for Scottish Architect of the Year, Richard Murphy Architects, in Edinburgh. During his four years at Richard Murphy Architects he worked on many projects varying in scale from one-off houses to large commercial developments. Most notably he was project architect on the Award winning housing at Dean Bank Lane in Edinburgh, Award winning housing at Moore Street, Glasgow, and was project architect on the New Computer Library and Lecture theatre for the University of East London, before his return home to Northern Ireland in 2007.
Ben Wilson is a Chartered Architect with the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) and RSUA (Royal Society of Ulster Architects).
Michelle McMullen

Michelle McMullen studied in Edinburgh College of Art graduating with a Masters in Architecture.
Previously to returning home Michelle worked for Award winning Scottish Architect Comprehensive Design Associates, in Edinburgh. She worked on a variety of large commercial projects within the office, including bespoke office buildings, retail fit-outs, and housing schemes. Most notiably she worked on the Skyways campus which houses the head office complex for Littlewoods Shop Direct at Estuary Commerce Park, Speke.
Previously to this she worked for RIBA Award winning Belfast Practice, Kennedy Fitzgerald Associates, which had a focus on large scale commercial projects throughout the residential, educational, arts and culture and hospitality sectors.
